False. But Austin will have the tallest skyscraper in Texas when it’s completed. The Waterline.

Why is Austin getting all these tall buildings but not Houston, Dallas, SA?

Houston may not be building more supertalls, but it is building as many towers.

Houston has been tall for 4 decades now.
Building a 700 fairer in Houston barely cracks the you 10 for the city. Building a 700 footer in Austin instantly made it the tallest in the city.

Austin was just catching up. All it's tallest towers has been built in the last few years.

Houston completed Texas tower 2 years ago. If that building was in Austin at the time it would be the tallest building in Austin.

So you r question is valid for Dallas and San Antonio, but you can't really say Houston isn't building too

Dallas has built like only one 500footer in the last 30 years and San Antonio probably only had one building over 500ft.

While Austin just has about 10 buildings over 500ft, Houston has like 40. Houston is by far the tallest city in Texas and it is still putting up towers.a developer bought a series of lots near Houston’s convention district a few years ago. It is just finishing phase one, and future phases are planned to be taller.

They are mostly residential and Austin has a much hotter market for downtown condos than do Houston, Dallas, or SA.

Higher land values and real estate prices in general, plus more recreational amenities that make people actually want to live downtown.

Austin condo market is just downtown. Houston has downtown, Uptown, Midtown, Allen Parkway, Montrose, Museum District, Upper Kirby, etc, building condos.

If it was all downtown...

Houston, like other major cities have multiple markets. Spots like Austin, Nashville, etc are impressive for their size, but they also lack multiple large markets.

DFW has multiple markets too, but they prefer not to build as tall.
San Antonio.... I dunno what's going on there.

With all of the activity in high-rise districts around Houston I'm sure several of those districts will grow into each other.

Is Miami’s Dolce and Gabana tower one of the the 2 supertalls that was previously announced or is it a 3rd?

The building design isn't ground breaking, but I like the color scheme and it's commanding, but centralizing presence.

This is basically the 888 Brickell tower having only the interiors being designed by Dolce & Gabana now.
It will be 90 stories high and reach a height of 1,049 feet.

I guess giving it a fancy name beats a boring street address.
