Miami is where billionaires on down, go to party from around the world.
Vegas is dubbed 'Adult Disneyland',. . . it's where 'Frank' from Cincinnati, the disgruntled business family-man, goes to blow off steam with his buds while at some corporate convention, while wearing cargo shorts.
Vegas has more large nightclubs (Marquee, Omnia, XS, Surrender, Tao, Drais). The clubs there will also have packed dancefloors on a Wednesday night. Miami's biggest clubs are smaller than Vegas' biggest clubs and you're probably less likely to find a club packed 1,500 strong on a weeknight.
Where Miami has a distinct advantage is in its rooftop scene in Brickell. Instead of getting a large dosage of EDM and hip hop as you do in Vegas nightclubs, you get a steady diet of deep house. It's a more sophisticated scene that Vegas really has no match for.

Er no offense but that sounds a little boring. And Brickell is totally dead at street level compared to the LV strip.

Being more exclusive makes it more of a party capital how exactly?
Frank from Cincinnati is less deserving to party than some trust fund brat? I dont get it.

There are many areas to party within Miami and Miami Beach along with numerous venues. Whereas Miami Beach has the mega venues—such as LIV and Story, that Brickell does not it also has other smaller but still fun venues such as Baoli, Villa Azur, Nikki Beach, Wall Lounge and pool parties—such as SLS, Dream, and Standard....Brickell isn’t really that happening as far as clubs or swanky lounges outside of Sugar and Komodo but nearby areas such as The River—home to The Wharf, Kiki on the River, Seaspice—and Design District’s Swan and Bar Bevy or Wynwood or downtown’s 24 hour nightclub, E11even are. In other words, one has multiple options at various price points in various neighborhoods from restaurant/lounge to full fledged nightclub. If that’s not enough, one can also go on a weekend booze cruise out of the nearby port....and I just turned 60 and still bring it (though not all night...lol).

Thank you. Im aware of Miami's scene but I just found the reference to Brickell a bit odd as it's a bit more reserved imo.

It’s a bit more local, professional and less transient/tourist oriented than the beach—which isn’t a bad thing. A quick 5-15 minute Uber ride dramatically improves one’s options (and you can leave the rowdiness behind when you return home and get a good nights rest).

Haha no, Im 44 and that was incredibly petty and salty and ageist. LOL
It wasn't salty. I was seriously asking because I know you are middle-aged and I didn't think a middle-aged person would prefer the 21-25 grindbox scene to a rooftop.

Only it doesn't really extend outside the nightclub. The Strip is not a "party" by any means and I don't see why anyone who's not a tourist visiting LV for the first time (or a HS student) would want to spend any significant amount of time on it.

If that's what you want to call it. Brickell is for people who want to AVOID the South Beach crowd.
