The one big advantage NYC has, from a local’s perspective, over Miami and Vegas—more higher paying jobs and careers that allows more people to support and finance their party lifestyle. Boy I miss some of the fun times with my Wall Street buddies—Jordan Belfort had nothing on them.
It’s a bit more local, professional and less transient/tourist oriented than the beach—which isn’t a bad thing. A quick 5-15 minute Uber ride dramatically improves one’s options (and you can leave the rowdiness behind when you return home and get a good nights rest).
I guess I'm all about the music since the music creates the vibe and the music in Miami tends to better and more diverse since there are more boutique venues. Here we are approaching 2020 and Vegas nightlclubs are still playing EDM and Future. Really?
The West Coast has a lot of great experimental stuff, but you won't hear it in Vegas. Vegas will come around to it once they have milked the very last dollar out of the EDM scene (which died around 2015...now it's a zombie) and the current popular stuff has been on the scene for 5-7 years.

At the Vegas clubs I went to, one played EDM and one played hip hop. That's in line with what's popular.
Vegas has better nightclubs than Miami. The people who think otherwise haven't been partying in Vegas or Miami recently.
Vegas has more big nightclubs than Miami. Whether that qualifies as better is in the eye of the beholder.
Vegas is the only city in America, and maybe the only city in the world, where you can get a full-blown, VIP bottle service experience on a Wednesday night. But then again, there have been times I've come into Vegas on a Wednesday night and the clubs were fairly quiet. Thursdays are when weekend travelers start coming in and things really get going.
Miami has club options on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but they involve smaller venues like Wall and Baoli. Of course, you have your mainstays in E11EVEN, Tootsie's, and KOD that are going to essentially be a party of some sort 7 days per week.
If you want megaclubs, Vegas definitely has more of those. Miami is no slouch on megaclubs (how many cities still have megaclubs these days?), but the scene is a lot more varied with rooftop bars, dives, lounges, etc. It's a city that has grown out of its Medellin cartel go-go party days to some extent and now presents a more diverse set of nightlife options.
