No? Its next to UMass Boston between South Boston's Beach. Maybe 30 years ago, but again, development.

Must be that UMass parking lot over there. That whole area floods still.

Development on paper at least.

Boston feels like a bigger and more cohesive city overall, but its downtown feels smaller than Seattle's to me.

Much depends on what year we're talking about...2020 is vastly different from 2015 for example. Seattle's is growing much faster.

It really all depends on how you define the downtown. Anything from Seaport, South Station, Shawmut Peninsula, Back Bay, the Fens, Kendall Sq is all fair game for me. Once you hit the South End, Charlestown, Allston, Kenmore Sq, etc... not downtown.

But I get what your saying. Like the Financial District/Downtown Crossing feels smaller than the Downtown proper of Seattle.

I think that’s the difference. The Seaport doesn’t feel like Downtown Boston nor does Back Bay or Kendall or the South End. Central Seattle feels like Central Seattle

It's a 3 mile (1 hour) walk from Fenway Park to the Old North Church. What's the equivalent end-to-end walk in Seattle?

Just spitballing on Google Maps, the walk from Smith Tower to the Space Needle is roughly half that distance..

Nobody would reasonable call either of those places Downtown Boston.

It’s like Haymarket to South Station would be the ends of Downtown Boston

Anytime im going 'in town' to Boston, its between Fenway, South Station, Seaport, North Station, and part of Kendall.

Im sure us in the 21-25 age range have a different depiction of what downtown is to us.
