Just anecdotal-just below the part you bolded, is the anecdote.

I can say for a fact the black population in Boston and Lowell is very 'urban' and it might not be desirable for upper middle class blacks-in fact I know it isnt. New Hampshire is pretty much free of other blacks unless you're in a specific neighborhood or two in Manchester and maybe a few streets in Nashua.

Or those in Portsmouth and the college towns.

Funny thing about North Andover i know a lot of blacks and hispanics who've moved there, even though i know its mostly a white town. I looked at apartments there out of curiosity and found many of them are quite cheap and much less than the Boston area hoods.

I see the North Andover Public School District went from 85% white to 74% from 2010-2018.
From 1994-2010 they went from 93% white to 85%.
From 2005 to 2010 the schools went from 97.5% to 85% white.
The largest minority group there are Hispanics who are the lowest performing race-academically-in Massachusetts.
So there's clearly an accelerated change there. The Census 2020 data will be interesting.

Stoughton went from 74% white in 2010 to 53% white in 2018 so I could see that being a pretty jarring change. Its deeper in that process than North Andover.

I know Stoughton, Mass gets a bad rap as 'going downhill' (coded racial language) but I tink maybe the same will eventually be said about North Andover in which case that black family is making a mistake. Nonetheless, I would imagine they are working right in Boston proper to be able to go to the opposite side of Eastern AM just for a lifestyle change.

In my younger days I would go to house parties in Stoughton and Randolph. The homes were pretty big, pretty modern. Stoughton seemed to have solid middle class blacks and a few lower middle class and a few upper-middle class I dunno why they'd want to leave unless they just hated seeing some of the things in the newspaper hat I see about Stoughton , seems there some fentanyl dealers there and some folks from Brockton who cause issues every now and then.

These threads are important if your an upwardly mobile African-American, both socially and career-wise. I don't think they offer much to whites other than pure interest.

Why is that? Do you think correlations between race/ethnicity and QOL outcomes do not exist?

Seriously? Don't question what I understand.

I guess I think if an "upwardly mobile African-American" had an interest in this subject, they would ask. If I was Black and saw some of these threads, I would be pretty upset...you know, about being the subject of "pure interest" for whites.

So why the obvious discomfort on your part when it comes to these threads? Plenty of Black folks are commenting on this thread and aren't upset about it.

But are you not a part of the same narrative you are trying to avoid? You commented on this thread to say you were uncomfortable with it. If you were uncomfortable then why comment on it in the first place? And to Mutiny's point, can the statistician not also be the statistic. You talk as if blacks are not capable of making objective arguments.
