Peachtree City in Fayette County is the highest end south metro Atlanta suburb, with 57% college educated adults. Virtually all of Fayette County is pretty desirable, but it is considerably less populated than equally affluent suburban areas north of Atlanta. The area is not convenient for those commuting regularly north of downtown, where the metro's white collar jobs are more concentrated.
Is the population density of those people high enough to get the Whole Foods-level amenities? North of Atlanta is major metro affluent 'burbs with all the trappings if your Ferrari, Bentley, or Lamborghini breaks down. All my Atlanta business trips have been to tech in those burbs or some trade show at the convention center. All I've ever seen south of Atlanta is the downtrodden areas around the airport.

Well, GeoffD, you gotta go beyond the immediate environs of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
But I don’t think South DFW burbs like Mansfield, Cedar Hill, South Grand Prairie, South Arlington, etc. are any different from the quality of suburbs in South ATL like PTC, Newman, etc.
You didn't answer my question. The North Atlanta 'burbs are a really affluent place. I don't see anything remotely like that south of Atlanta and an unsubstantiated "South Metro Atlanta is a jewel" is not a useful response. I don't see the towns with the median household income to support the amenities and school system. Peachtree City looks to be about it and it's only 35,000 people. Median household income doesn't even break $100K according to current Census estimates.
They're comparable but Dallas' northern suburbs have a significant edge in amenities, and infrastructure versus Atlanta's. I can't speak to NOVA as much but the layout of Dallas suburbs and Atlanta are more similar I think.
Cool. What is the edge in amenities and infrastructure?
