I personally have no idea where I could find them for a specific count. The best I can do is the Pittsburgh Post Gazette's interactive map of murders on the county which doesn't show municipality boundaries.

That’s true but no matter how safe a city is a sudden surge in crime is not good.

I work for the city police, and my colleague (and one of the only other liberals in my office) is our homicide analyst. I apologize for not having updated Pittsburgh's count on here in quite a while, as our job has become busier. Pittsburgh is tough because so many counts are overinflated because they include "Pittsburgh, PA" zip codes, which, as Pittsburghers know, encompass practically half of Allegheny County's suburban areas.

There's also the issue that many living in the suburbs call themselves "Pittsburghers". I once had to argue with a crime victim that I couldn't help her because she lived in Blawnox, and the crime occurred in Blawnox, yet she kept arguing with me that she was a "Pittsburgher".

Anyhow, as of 04/27/2020 Pittsburgh is at 11 homicides for 2020. That's below-average.

Our rate using the city's 2018 estimated population of 301,048 is 3.6/100,000.
