You chose to post a highest total for the city in its summer worst weekend as if every weekend. Also shootings and if a homicide is the outcome are different stats.

No one doubts Chicago's overall number will remain the highest for the year in a total as it has been for a good many years with a spike about 2016 2017 hyped. Most can already make a estimate for every major city for the year. Some cities sadly may be higher by more then just a couple this year and then a more significant increase.

Some may wish to paint a city in a worst-case scenerio for whatever reasons they have? Sometimes a history of post you read note this too.

Flint is at 14 homicides until May 3rd according to Flint police, a 75% increase compared to last year which was already a bad year. I looked for answers on MLive why the number is so high despite many people staying inside but there is not much information.

4 in the last 24 hours, they're up to 104 now.

It's incredibly depressing if you actually stop and think about it, but I'm not the social scientist with all the answers.

Through 5/2, LA is at 86. At that date in both 2018 and 2019, we were at 82.
