Cincinnati now at 34 after 8 year old boy fatally shot.
From reading news articles it sounds like he accidentally shot himself. Idk if that will count in the total homicides or not.

So at what point do we remove Camden from the murder capital pedestal? Reputations can take a while to change.

It takes while crime trending down in Camden compare to nearby Chester, PA. Camden is near Center City Philly across river so there is hope.

Wow, KCMO has might beat STL this year. STL usually smokes KCMO in body counts.

Another homicide today at noon in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood.

Location: https://goo.gl/maps/R5Jp9BM39isUwitU6

This is Boston’s 16th homicide. 15 of the 16 have been in Roxbury Dorchester or Mattapan. The other was in Hyde Park.

Boston hasnt had ONE single year in the last two decades where you thought “damn there was a bunch of violence”. You really cant say that about any other city. Easily the “softest” big city in the USA. I wouldnt be surprised if the city starts topping out in the 20’s within the next 5 years.

If it wasnt for urban violence Boston would have like 3 homicides a year. Like no domestic and unusual deaths ever happen there.

Ehh Yes and no. I can tell from your comment your not all that familiar with Boston.

There were three years over 70 homicides. Couple years over 300 people shot. There are many unusual deaths they’re just usually not ruled a homicide. People pop up in the Charles River fairly regularly. Bostonslowest year for homicide was 31 in 1999 and that proved unsustainable. It had 95 in 1995 and 75 in 2005. In 2018 it had 57/58. It won’t top out in the 20s or even the 30s in the next 5 years. 40s-50s is more realistic.

Urban violence(?) is violence lol, areas with lots of local people experience above average levels of violence in Boston. On the whole the city is ‘soft’ but not softer than say Austin Seattle Portland Minneapolis Virginia Beach San Francisco Seattle Los Angeles New York or Denver (most years). If we’re looking at homicide rate normally over the last 20 years it’s higher than all of those cities.

There have been years in the past 5 years where single Boston neighborhoods have had more homicides than all of Seattle. Based off your criteria NYC LA Seattle are all ‘softer‘-to name a few

15-20 years ago Boston’s overall crime rate was well above average. Right now it’s homicide rate is similar to Long Beach, CA.
