I think there's a few more pending but this past week it's been pretty quiet there (relatively) as far as I can tell. Haven't seen much on the news other than people getting wounded in shootings. Just yesterday a 15 year old was shot 17 times in Philly. That's not a typo. 17. Times. He's in stable condition.

Meanwhile in Chicago bodies have been dropping like flies the past 3 weekends. Like I think 5-6 weeks ago Chicago and Philly were 50 murders apart and now they're 100 apart.

Ive said it before Boston Is the softest us city. There is literally no violence issues here. Even Denver has been smoking Boston in recent years.

As a born and raised New Englander I’m proud of the fact that Boston is a safe city. That has nothing to do with being “soft”. When I’m in CA I love the fact that I can go anywhere in San Diego and not worry about getting shot.

But gee, maybe I should move to Capetown, Baghdad or Caracas to prove how hardcore I am.

Chicago is now up over 290 and is on pace to finish well over 600. It is now just shy of the numbers of 2016/2017, which were by far the worst of the last decade.

If someone wants to calculate murder RATES of various places that would be great, by the way.

I'd say the current pace puts it at around 580, but if Chicago's just gonna get worse and worse, it could end up with 700 for all we know.

Yeah. Chicago hit 200 then FLEW. Philly and Houston seemed to have calmed down.

A few more:

San Diego: 1.5
San Jose: 1.6
Seattle: 2.3
Austin: 2.3

Also, I'm getting 3.25 for LA and your Boston rate of 0.3 seems way too low.

Fixed it. I'm going off of BPt11's most recent list from yesterday. Perhaps LA had a homicide or two added. Sometimes there's discrepancies between sources.

What population are you using for LA? I currently have nearly exactly 4 million.
