Chicago...sadly to say. You don't really associate CHicago with gangs, but the city has a had a long, long history of gang activity.

Chicago is the only major city in the country that doesn't have Blood and Crips. Why? Because the local gangs wouldn't let them set up shop.

Hopefully this is a problem that can be fixed in the near future.

I'm not the most informed on this topic but I know there's Gangster Disciples, Latin Kings, Folk Nation, People Nation, P-Stone nation...etc etc

From what I hear there are hundreds of different sets throughout the city.

I don't know about NY having that much gang activity per capita actually.

Chicago is most violent city in U.S. - it's probably the worst.

I know Houston and Dallas are pretty bad in some parts, so is L.A. and Miami.

NOLA is like one big gang, same with memphis and detroit

Gang activity is not too bad at all in NYC. Its narrowed down to small pockets of the city and they have very little power.

I don't know if you've been here, but Stockton, CA, has a lot of gang activity. Almost at least 4 out of 10 people here look like thugs. I wish that was an exaggeration, but when I go outside or drive around it I know I'm not wrong. Also, the crime is always on the news and in the local paper. It's probably almost all because of illegal aliens.

Recently Atlanta has been increasing in gang activity (unfortunately ). It seems that a lot of other cities are decreasing in gangs because they are all moving to Atlanta. ATL, Detroit, and a few other cities are the only ones where it's considered cool to be thuggish and glorifies that type of lifestyle, while it's become out of style in other cities such as Los Angeles where it used in style back in the 90's, and New York City where it was in style in the 80's. Hopefully it will become out of style in Atlanta soon and the crime rate will go back down, like it did in NYC and L.A.

When it come to major cities with gang activity, Chicago is second behind LA, if not equal. I do notice the media/movies like to focus on LA gangs more than Chicago's. If I'm not mistaken, the black gangs(GDs, Vice Lords, Black P.Stones) in Chicago are bigger than the Crips and Bloods in LA. Chicago also have alot of hispanic gangs; ex. Latin Kings, Latin Counts, Two Six. Chicago is not big on Asian gangs like it is in LA and other places.
