I don't have much knowledge about Houston other than visiting their airport a few times.
Uhh...you may be thinking of Ft.Worth not Dallas.

Even if the carving was there it would still be popular. Mont Royal in Montreal comes to mind

Perhaps not, but having the world's largest granite outcropping is. The place is beautiful.

Atlanta is quite different from either Houston or Dallas. I would rather compare Atlanta to Charlotte or even Nashville. Maybe it's my regional bias.

What is commonly said:

Dallas is Atlanta without trees and hills.

Atlanta is Dallas with trees and hills.

Yeah, I agree with this. DFW reminds me more of a Midwest city. It doesn't really feel similar to Atlanta to me with the exception of the layout / locations of the suburbs but DFW develops much differently than Atlanta.

North Houston reminds me a lot of Atlanta than DFW does.

I've had several people say The Woodlands reminded them of Atlanta in a way.

I was referring to cattle and beef. I stand corrected if that's Fort Worth. I've been to Dallas, and I thought the city was known for the cattle as well.

This would be the exception. Woodlands very much reminds me of Alpharetta and Johns Creek area.
Lake Woodlands Dr reminded me of Windward Pkwy. Heading out to Tomball reminded me a bit of Winder / Dacula area.
