Omaha, Wichita, Tulsa are better comparisons to OKC and Little Rock.
They all have similar cultures and things to do. Indianapolis feels smaller than other peer cities.

First I've heard of someone saying Indy feels smaller than the other cities. I get the general feeling Indy is more developed.

OKC and Little Rock are not peer cities, and not the ones I am referring to.

Really, and don't see why some people think Little Rock should stand out better for health care since it is smaller than OKC and much smaller than Indianapolis.

By the way, Arkansas ranks behind Oklahoma and Indiana for health care in this article: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/best-an...r-health-care/

Yeah, I was referring to metros above 2 million to 2.5 million for Indianapolis peers. Indianapolis feels smaller because it has a small skyline and is not as sprawly. It becomes rural rather quickly once you leave the city whereas other cities have a gradual suburban transition. Indianapolis is not alone in this aspect, but it was something I noticed. State rankings are not a good indicator of how well metro areas are in reality. Little Rock's UAMS ranked in the top 50 medical centers nationally. Health access is a much better indicator than simply using obesity rates. Arkansas is a rural state with one midsize metro area, so Little Rock supports much more than its immediate area when considering amenities and services (with the Memphis region being the exception for the eastern part of the state). Further notable is the fact that medical marijuana is accepted in Oklahoma and Arkansas, while all use is illegal in Indiana.

I'm sure not understanding these people that are ranking Little Rock so high in health care. UAMS is ranked way behind both the medical schools in Indianapolis and OKC.

USNWR has Indianapolis and OKC in the top 100 medical schools while Little Rock's teaching hospital is below 120 in the unranked categories.

Not saying Little Rock doesn't have good medical but I don't see any evidence that it stands out over the other two cities being discussed. There have been three posters who have given Little Rock the "health care" nod. I wish they would take the time to elaborate because it would be interesting to see some actual evidence.

Indianapolis has higher crime, shootings, overcrowded jails, run down areas, and food deserts.

Good.

Indiana has failed to protect its residents from a hospital that exposed more than 1000 people to HIV.

Metro Little Rock Guide

You were given reasons why Little Rock and Arkansas deserve credit for improving its healthcare system, and you chose to ignore them. You were presented facts why Indianapolis and Indiana perform poorly in related public health factors as well.

I glanced at the Little Rock links you posted. The only "rankings" of significance that any of them had was that UAMS was top 50 in EENT clinical.

But there were three of you that had Little Rock as best of the three in Health Care. That's why I was curious. If it had been just one person I don't think I would have thought much about it.
