Interesting ...NYC #1 in US (#2 worldwide) in CEO report yet doesn’t crack top 20 in Milken report. Go figure.

I'm surprised to see San Diego and Las Vegas as high up as they are. They're both fine cities, but I'd have expected Houston, DC, and Dallas to be higher than them. I also thought Miami would be above them.

San Diego I can definitely see. Las Vegas I'm not sure, but I know they are also going through a massive real estate bubble currently.

Sad but true

These lists and rankings are sort of worthless. They don't advance anything of meaning even when they are comprehensive and academic but this one is neither.

Shocked by Las Vegas too as it's until recently been a one trick party kind of town with tourism driving everything. Miami also is heavy with tourism and finance and isn't ultra diverse economy wise. Dallas and Houston, and DC are beasts so yep I agree.

Stock market aside, COVID-19 is having serious effects on global trade. Imports in the month of February are down 25% at the Port of Los Angeles (and a similar figure for the Port of Long Beach), which is the major port that deals with the bulk of imports from China (where a massive chunk of the world's goods are manufactured).

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/02/25/port...rsus-sars.html

It's always one thing or another when it comes to economic disruptions and stopgaps with the United States. Last year was the meaningless slowdown caused by an impasse in trade deal negotiations (why?) and the government shutdown for over a month and a half (again, why?) and this year it's a Coronavirus.

It's like everytime the table is set to get back to normal something else comes in the way to disrupt things once again. The U.S. can't even seem to get back to zero due to all of these disruptions, one coming in after another in a seemingly endless loop.

The decrease in global trade due to this virus is affecting the labor levels at various seaports around the world, especially those with large trade networks designated to and from China:
