* Austin, Richmond, San Diego, and Tampa do not have CSAs.
Charlotte MSA 2,217K (2010) - 2,636K (2019) Change: 419K

Hickory MSA (375K) is not included in Charlotte CSA? Same for Clarksville MSA (320K) separating from Nashville CSA. Both are less than an hour drive to the core of the main city.

It's a race between Charlotte, Orlando, and San Antonio to grab the 20th spot. Denver will probably keep the 19th spot for the next 15-20 years.

On the list of CSA’s, looks like Raleigh needs to be above Nashville at #31.

It's a double edged sword. With the shrinking counties, it hurts the growth rate and numbers, without them the population is lower and a metro loses visibility. I'd think that many MSAs and CSAs have this issue.
How's Shelby County doing vis-a-vis the others in the MSA?

Shelby County is the Second fastest growing county in the Memphis MSA.... Historically it's been a Juggarnaut it grow by 90,000 in the 90's but Now it's Muchh Slower....Memphis has a High Birth Rate compared to many cities so that helps off set outmigration.

Here s Memphis Stats in 2019,.(using round numbers) 17,000 births 11,000 deaths so 6000 natural increase . 1800 International , -3400 due to Dometic Outmigration so about - 1600 from Out Migration....But that High Birth Rate Saves Memphis

IRONICALLY It's a Mississippi County that accounts for most of Memphis's growth...Out of the 3500 Memphis gained in 2019 Probably over 2000 came from DeSoto County Mississippi...So High Birth Rates and DeSoto County saves Memphis...But The Rest of the Mississippi Countys Shrink!
