What modeling agencies consider beautiful isn't what the average person consider attractive.

There are different types of models. For high fashion, yes, I would agree that many of them have a somewhat "unique" look and don't have that much conventional appeal. But that's a small minority of models. You have to have very specific body proportions to do that type of modeling. Most models are doing commercials and product shoots and would be considered attractive by most people. In most cities, these are women who might be hostesses in the trendiest restaurants and night clubs. A good number of these women know they are very appealing to the male gaze and will try to monetize their looks by moving to NY or LA (or Instagram).

Los Angeles is naturally going to have the most attractive women because few other cities (and by few I mean one or two) have industries that vet people by attractiveness. No, this does not mean that ALL models or actresses are attractive, but rather that these are professions where looks DO matter a lot unlike, say, accounting. So where you may find 50-60% of "models" to be attractive, you may find only 1% of female claims adjusters or IT specialists to be attractive.

=908Boi;62700528]Are we really pretending that NYC doesn't have great looking women lol. Sheer numbers and diversity is key here. I haven't been to LA but I imagine its similar.

Miami and Broward are up there. DC for black women also. DC isn't great for white/Asian/hispanic women IMO.

Plenty of men move to NYC in part for the women Plenty of my peers have done this. Especially people into model types, artsy/hipsetr types, Caribbean women, Asian women, etc.
It does cuz there’s 4 million women there. So yes sheer numbers and diversity , but there’s also 4 million men out there trying to get at them, successfully gotten at them. But me? I just can’t pretend that it has one of the most attractive female populaces. That’s honestly funny to me. Like—-no. A hard no at that. For all the people out on the street in NYC I don’t think I’ve ever taken that classic double take, really.

I have eyes. If you had me list NYCs strengths not in a million years would I say attractive women. That’d never cross my mind in word association. DC would (even though the has a lower % of models/singes/actresses than Boston- as if that’s valuable lol). And my eyes have told me Boston women are for sure more attractive in a average than NYC women. To categorize NYC with LA or Miami? That’s like twilight zone to me. Any a great city of many strengths- sexy women ain’t one of em. The models singer actresses? Yea it’s the capital of the globe with 9 million people in it. It’s gonna have the top of profession. .l but to act like that is representative of the female populace is amusing.

A man moving to NYC for the women is just bananas and definitely only something you’d hear on the internet from a dude nearby NYC, no way is that happening IRL…

To be fair I dont see a lot of super attractive women in Vegas- but I do see a lot of women who didn’t wear a lot of clothes. Kinda like knockoff Miami.

Why is it that whenever someone says NYC has attractive women, you accuse them of being from NYC, living in NYC or being "nearby NYC"? You have "Boston" in your username so we should only assume you are displaying some major league homer-ism here. Are there any posters in this thread besides you have said Boston is on the short list of American cities for "most attractive female populace"?

I doubt Boston could even win a thread like this in the Boston subforum.

African American women usually prefer African American men. And Dominican women usually prefer Dominican/Hispanic men.

Yes actually- there were 4 people beside me but one of them said” (excluding inner city Boston)” but we’ve had this poll/thread before, Boston usually pops up. It’s a place that generally has attractive people.

I wouldn’t call this homerism because I very honestly believe this. On average: they’re healthier (we both know this), fitter, on average make more $$$, more educated than NYC and there’s a lot off wordly representation from regions extremely similar to NYC’s albeit not as much (that’s not all bad thing as NYC has more of what I’d consider homely/unpolished very recent arrivals). And they’re outdoors more often, better attitudes too IMO. So yea..more attractive it’s easy for me.

Just from personal experiences, Tucson, DC and Miami are on a different level.

I’ve heard things about Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tempe…Tucson definitely doesn’t seem like a stretch.
