Yep. I was going to refute that. My sister lives in Vancouver and, pre-COVID, has had years where she was an Air Canada frequent flyer. It’s really good Asia service. She generally does Lufthansa to Frankfurt because Star Alliance. BOS-YVR is seasonal, unfortunately. It’s not a high volume city pair in the winter.
I loathe LA so I pick East Coast.
Vancouver also gets voted has having the nicest airport in North America, over and over.
In regards to Vancouver no. SEA has 21 international destinations, not including Canada, YVR has 45.
It's not a small regional airport at all. Seattle is upping it's game though, since YVR and SEA are competitors, but it's Seattle playing catch-up on the international front.
True, but YVR only has about 25 million passengers/year. About the size of San Diego. SEA does over 50 million.
I just finished watching this Filipino movie on Netflix called "First Love", anyway it is set in Vancouver and showcases the beauty and vibrancy of the city exceptionally well. Loved it.

Yes, but my response was to the statement that Vancouver was a small REGIONAL airport, and the Seattle wasn't. Seattle's 50 million doesn't make it less regional, if by regional you mean domestic.
Another way to look at regional vs international is that Seattle has 30 airlines serving it, 18 foreign ones, YVR has 51, 34 which are foreign, including US ones, of which there are 7.
So the poster's saying Vancouver was regional, when it is less regional than Seattle, was simply incorrect.

Fair point! Though to your point that YVR has 45 international destinations, 30 of them are to the US. SEA has 20 international destinations that are not Canada/US, YVR has 15.
Ohhhhhhhh, 1 city in the TRIO isn't diverse in some groups (1 category in the criteria), even though it has tons of Asian diversity......Wonder why the thread is about a "TRIO" comparison since we're going to pick one category about one city
bruh 1% though. 1% Hispanic OR black. ONE percent
You cant act like that's not an enormous knock against diversity compared to the other cities. In the US blacks and Latinos are 30%+ of the population. Maybe that inconsequential if you're white but...it shouldn't be.
The West Coast group offers an all around better quality of life IMO.
Do Seattle and LA have after QOL than Montreal and Boston? Idk about that. Also, its a no for me because the black population in those cities in those 3 cities is really minimal. Don feels as "urban" in built form as the east coast cities. They're also too spread out from one another.

bruh I agree that isn't diverse.
I was just pointing out that we are evaluating these cities in a TRIO. And Vancouver is 46% Asian, with several different ethnicities represented. Again, to say it isn't diverse isn't accurate. It doesn't have much black or Latino diversity, which is true....so it's likely at the least diverse of the bunch. But we are evaluating these as a TRIO and it brings Asian diversity to the TRIO group. That is the only point I was making. If the city were to be evaluated by itself, given it's low black/latino numbers, it would likely be last in the rankings of these cities bruh
