Jacksonville may be Florida's largest city, but it's only its 4th largest metro area. Both the Tampa Bay and Orlando areas are larger than metro Jacksonville. In the case of Tampa Bay, it doubles Jacksonville in less land area, and Orlando tops it by a million+.
Agree with most of the post but the bolded is wrong. Tampa has about 3.1 million people, Orlando 2.6 million.
Rule: No NYC, LA, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Miami, Jacksonville
NY State cities we are comparing: Buffalo, Rochester, White Plains, Albany, Yonkers, Syracuse, New Rochelle
FL State: Tampa, Orlando, St. Petersburg, Fort Lauderdale, Tallahassee, West Palm Beach
CA cities: Long Beach, Oakland, Bakersfield, Fresno, Glendale, Pasadena, Anaheim, Santa Ana
How we comparing the three groups
1. Which one has better nightlife/bars
2. Which one feel more urban and walkability
3. Transportation
4. Restaurants
5. Culture
6. Neighborhoods
7. Best small stores within downtown area
8. Foot traffic
9. Best suburbs
10. Recreation
11. Schools
Even Fort Lauderdale anchors a metro division of 2 million people, along with WPB anchoring an area of 1.5 million.
I love voting for Florida usually, but this seems unfair to the other choices.
It's bizarre criteria, but hey, it's your thread
I wondered about Orlando and Tampa too. They are very much considered major FL cities. For the sake of the state, almost on a similar stature to Miami. (Miami is obviously more major on an international level, but as far as the state goes, all three are considered to be THE major metros.)
Fort Lauderdale and WPB however do kind of play second fiddle to Miami in the SFL region, so I can see why they wouldn't be considered "Major FL cities" in the same vain.
But hey, for the sake of this poll, I'll vote Florida...

Miami is 'More major' on every level, than Orlando and Tampa. I won't go further off topic though
