I assume not as badly. Those cities were already losing population before they had riots in 2014-15. They also have much higher black populations which likely contributes to white flight.

St Louis didn’t have riots. Ferguson did, it’s a difference.

Right. It's very close though. Another thing I might add about Minneapolis : I've heard even before this that Downtown was getting pretty dangerous and undesirable.

Doubt it. Charlotte wasn't, and Minneapolis is more like Charlotte than Baltimore or St. Louis/Ferguson.

No, that seems very unlikely. What that officer did was very explicitly egregious, and it seems like MSP just has a lower tolerance for such given the fairly immediate reactions. MSP also had a far more robust economy and better socioeconomic indicators than either Ferguson or Baltimore prior to this.

At most they will lose some conventions and business from groups who do not want to be put at risk. Minneapolis was in much better shape than the declining cities.

The physical damage seems a lot more significant. Like Fergeson was like 6 blocks on Floressient Blvd this is all over the southern half of the city and up and down University Ave in St Paul. Baltimore was like two building IIRC.

Like I think the metro will be okay but the impact on the actual area seems greater.

But the whole city seems behind it because it was so obviously murder. The crowds seems nuch more mixed than they were in St Louis or Baltimore

Now that the officer(s) are getting arrested, I think things will settle down in Minneapolis.

Although St. Louis and Baltimore were mentioned, to put things in perspective, this (and even the incidents in St. Louis and Baltimore) is a cake walk compared to the 1967 race riots in Detroit that continued for 5 days and destroys miles upon miles of the city.
