Interestingly, LA's highest elevation is 5,074 ft. San Diego's is 1,591. (city limits only)

For all I know I may have been up there, well..I doubt it, but I took a cruise up Mulholland Dr and weeded my way into and down through Sunset Blvd entering Hollywood. It was quite breath taking, although I have to admit Hollywood wasn't at all what I was expecting. There were a bunch of fruitloops hanging around to the decree that I felt unsafe stopping in some areas.

To be clear, the highest point is Mt. Lukens tucked away beyond Tujunga.

I don't think the mountains around Mulholland are notably higher than San Diego's (within city limits). The Hollywood sign is at an elevation of 1,578 ft.

Admittedly I didnt notice the Hollywood sign on my last visit. But thanks for the info.

Has California opened up by the way? I've been wanting to take a road trip there. I dont expect any place to be fully open but I should say, is it safe to travel there?
