Not saying that this goes for everyone, but an average 18 days per year 110°F+ still sounds pretty damn hot to me.

OP, how happy are you with Dunwoody? Also, how's the rental market there now? Can you rent out your place for enough to cover your mortgage and taxes there and try Tempe since you can work remotely and test the waters for a bit?

They're both insanely hot, but at least Phoenix has Flagstaff to escape to on weekends or whatever.
Not sure what to do in Atlanta short of locking myself in the deep freeze of the local McDonald's.

I'd tell you to head for the Northeast Georgia Mountains.

That's where we spend our weekends. The place is absolutely beautiful--and Young Harris and Hiawassee are somewhat of a secret.

At this very moment, the humidity in Flagstaff is 8% at 80 degrees, the humidity in Ski Valley is 70% at 69 degrees.
In spite of the cooler temps, I’m sticking with Flagstaff here.

Can't stand the insane heat but the Atlanta metro has gone to crap from what I've researched. Also Arizona doesn't tax groceries and has a lower income tax than GA.

Uh, no. It's actually booming still, there's a housing shortage here.

OMG, Sky Valley sounds absolutely brutal! How do they even deal with that?

At least an errant camp fire ember won't destroy thousands of acres...
