^^^ Let's keep DC out of this one please, as it's already been debated at #3.

My vote is for Miami.

It's pull in Latin America/South America, is much stronger than the overhyped pull of SF in Asia. Los Angeles and Seattle both eat into that big time. Miami was the #1 city/metro for international migrants last year if I'm not mistaken.

More young people know Miami.

But SF is probably more universally known right now.

Given that IT and tech is huge in India, and Silicon Valley has lots of Indian immigrants working in tech, I'd say SF is very well known in India.

Despite Silicon Valley being in a different MSA from SF, people abroad don't know that and to them, they think Silicon Valley is SF.

I certainly hear Miami, a lot more than I hear SF named when I travel abroad, or from any friends that I know who are abroad.

Even in Asia?

And people often use Silicon Valley interchangeably with SF abroad. I have a hard time believing that foreign news covers Miami more than Silicon Valley.

I'd say San Fran, but it's close. I think the tech scene/Silicon Valley gives it the slightest of edges over the South Beach vibe.

Maybe if one is into the tech scene, but there are literally BILLIONS of people there not thinking about the origins of tech, which not all of it comes from SF anyway. Miami is on the tip of people's tongues as a destination more in my experience, but I've been to Latin America/Europe a lot more times than I've been to Asia.
