3) Officine Panerai and Carolina Herrera New York should be added.
4) What are thoughts on trendy lifestyle stores like Ted Baker, AG, Scotch & Soda, Vince, etc.?
1) yes, but I would have catch that As I get to them

2) price. Tory Burch is definitely a notch above say Coach, but it’s a lot cheaper than Tory Burch.

3) I thought I did list Panerai and Carolina Herrera they were in the 2020 list. I’ll check back for any others I missed from that one

4) Good question. Their price makes them more accessible in comparison to other brands here but their locations are fairly exclusive for now.

For #1, the Escada site seems to be pretty outdated.
In response to #3... For clarification, the Carolina Herrera New York store is different than the more common CH stores.

I see both sides of the argument, more premiere shopping vs. more premiere shopping experience.

First, NYC, LA and Miami outdo all others by a wide margin in both aspects, including larger local boutique scenes.

I find that the experience (IMO) in traditional walking cities (like New York and Chicago) outdoes Dallas and Houston, BUT Dallas and Houston have more premiere offerings than most traditional walking cities, less New York. (I also think people are sleeping on downtown Chicago, which IMO outdoes downtown Boston, not sure how Boston came into the convo with such force).

Highland Park Village is awesome though, but it is a confined center, some like that, some don't.
If I didn't know any better, I would think Dallas and Houston were one city. Houston doesn't have anything like a Katy Trail nor the retail to tie it together. Mockingbird Station, Knox Street, West Village (Turtle Creek Village) the Harwood District /The Crescent, and Victory Park are all connected by the Katy Trail.
Billionaire Mr. Dell from Austin has made serious investments believing in the success of Knox Street. Ray Washburne of Highland Park Village fame made serious investments in the strech of street called Hi-Line which is developing into the Main Street of the Dallas Design District. The Katy Trail is now being expanded in the area of the Design District.
In Central Dallas, walkability shouldn't be measured by a single Main Street, but by many little Main Streets connected by the Katy Trail.

Zanotti, Diptyque, Panerai were on 2020’s list as well. As well as Carolina Herrera as R1 mentioned. I have to go back and see why I missed them when I gathered them from 2021. Those might have been added later.

Edit: so was Oscar de la renta, weitzman, Chloe and Mulberry

If someone makes a list of expensive cars I'll add up all the dealerships.

1. NYC - No question here. They're home to the flagship of just about all big brands.

2. LA - Second only to NYC. Destinations like Beverly Hills and South Coast Plaza.

3. Miami
4. Vegas - These two are obvious after NYC and LA.

5. Chicago - Has been quiet as of late in attracting new brands, but it's history makes it just round the top 5

6-8 - Houston, Dallas, San Francisco - Close call between there, can make the case for either. All have destinations and carry most of the boutiques you'll find. Houston and Dallas aren't particularly known for being shopping destinations, but both are severely underrated shopping cities with most of the boutiques you'll find there.

9-11. Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta - One would think of Boston being higher here, but they lack so many brands as compared all the cities listed above. My theory is being so close to NYC, and the shopping capital of the world. Still, enough going to be top 10.

Honorable mention: Aspen. For a small town that relies fully on tourism, their high end shopping scene has a lot to say.

Note: These are shopping cities, not fashion impact. The terms seem to be confused often. Atlanta would be much higher here, were that what was being ranked.
Okay. I think I finally understand the argument here. Houston has been blessed in the long run to lose its one luxury based department store Sakowitz. In return, it received a lot of individual boutiques that Dallas never has; because, traditionally, a lot of those stores would leave or avoid the Dallas market because of Neiman Marcus.

From downtown Dallas headed north, just consider how much the Dallas luxury market is loaded down with luxury department stores:

1) Downtown – Neiman Marcus and Forty-Five-Ten
2) Uptown – Stanley Korshak
3) Northpark Center – Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom
4) The Dallas Galleria - Nordstrom
5) Shops at Willow Bend – Neiman Marcus
6) Stonebriar Mall – Nordstrom

7) Shops at Clear Fork - Neiman Marcus (Fort Worth)
Did I miss any?

Thanks for setting me straight on this matter.
