are we talking yachts, Bugatti dealerships, exclusive jewelry/diamond (i.e. Graff) dealers, Frette flagship stores, Snaidero, Miele or Poggenpohl kitchen / cabinetry design showrooms??...or is that pigeon holing it a bit much?

Bang and Olufsen high-end audio and speakers. Only has retail stores in LA Miami NYC Scottsdale and Boston.

Can anyone else think of high-end retail outside of clothes?

I believe there is a Bang & Olufsen store in Philadelphia now on Walnut Street (I am shocked as well).

But outside of clothing (since most major metros have an assortment of that) I would think furniture and home is next a good comparison, but harder to track since many lux furniture/home stores can be unique to certain cities.

They used to be in a lot more big cities, but have downsized their operations. There was talks of it reopening in Dallas pre-COVID, but that most likely is not going to happen now.

Eataly is very good, though not sure I would necessarily call it high end--you can order just a pizza or a $20 plate of pasta....we've got a similar multi-station food hall concept here from a company called Casa Tua, which also has high end restaurants in Miami Beach, Aspen and Paris.

I would consider other full fledged restaurant outposts from renowned chefs in limited distribution--not chains in a dozen cities or at airports--to be more exclusive and high end.

Examples include restaurants from French Laundry's Thomas Keller (besides his highly acclaimed flagship in Napa/SF Bay Area, high end outposts in NYC, Miami Beach, and I will throw in Las Vegas--even though Bouchon Bistro is more casual); Jean-Georges (high end restaurants only in NYC metro, Miami Beach, LA, and Las Vegas); Daniel Boulud (high end restaurants in NYC, Washington DC, Miami/Palm Beach, Montreal and Toronto); and the late Joel Rubochon (high end outposts in NYC, Montreal, Miami, and Las Vegas)
