Gasparilla Island. Better beaches, tropical feel, much warmer and conducive to a beach vacation for me.
Denver, CO or New Orleans, LA?
New Orleans... It's one of the most unique, culture-rich places in the entire USA. Denver is great, but you can replicate its look and feel other places in the mountain west.

Coeur d'Alene, ID or Jackson, WY?
Coeur d'Alene. Close to nature and Spokane. Sarasota FL or Oceanside CA?

Sarasota. I do like the San Diego area. They have so great things to see and do. But I love Florida's Gulf Coast beaches much more the CA's. The water is warmer and much more comfortable and I like the texture of the sand better, more comfortable and prettier.
Upper Peninsula of Michigan or Outer Banks of North Carolina?
Location: northern Vermont - previously NM, WA, & MA

I do enjoy the Outer Banks, some of my favorite beaches on the East Coast. But I've never been to Michigan or spent a lot of time around the Great Lakes and Lake Superior seems the most intriguing. I'll go with the UP.
Duluth/North Shore, Minnesota or Rapid City/Black Hills, South Dakota?

I'd love to take in the beauty of the Black Hills (but have no interest in that carved monstrosity which most people visit).
Maine. Would love to see the coast and explore cities like Portland and Augusta. Savannah GA or Charleston SC?
Charleston. Savannah has better parks and squares in their downtown. But I like Charleston's Rainbow Row, waterfront, restaurants, and plantations better. I like Charleston's beaches much better. The city is overall cleaner and more well kept. Both have very friendly locals who are a joy to talk to. Love both places, but prefer Charleston for sure.
Hershey Park (Hershey, PA) or Kennywood Park (Pittsburgh, PA)?

Probably Kennywood. Plus I like Pittsburgh. Cedar Point theme park in Sandusky Ohio or Six Flags St. Louis?

My roller coaster days are long over, but I'd pick Six Flags because I think it would be more fun for my younger children, and I'm guessing they have more options for less-intense attractions.
Suwannee River State Park (Florida) or Ouabache State Park (Indiana)?
