It would be a tough choice between Seattle and San Francisco for me but going with San Fran because I’ve never lived there before and I’ve lived in Seattle but Seattle ranks high up there for me on this list.
1. Phoenix. Considering moving there, I generally enjoy the heat, the COL blows the rest of the choices out of the water.
2. LA. Pricey, kinda dumpy in some parts, but probably the best weather and the coast.
3. Seattle. I currently live in the PNW and Seattle is expensive as hell too, but the scenery is awesome. Weather is okay, but you get the greenery.
4. SF. Way too expensive and just doesn't move the needle at all for me in almost any category. I've enjoyed visiting there, but would need a wicked (like, 3x my current salary) raise to even consider moving there.
I never thought I'd see the day where Pheonix would beat San Fran and Seattle as a place someone would rather live.. ..Has the west coast become that bad?

Some people prefer the warm, arid climate or lack of congestion. I wouldn’t want to live in the desert but Phoenix is where a lot of people from the West Coast are relocating due to gentrification, and gentrifiers are largely monotonous and boring to be around, and the cities are less creative as a result.
