I'll post this here since its probably the best thread.
But since got some numbers on Cleveland and suburban totals, wanted to see how dangerous the metro is for blacks.
Cleveland, unlike alot of northern metros, the black population isn't just confined to some inner city neighborhoods (though those who are are putting up 3rd world type statistics).
But is Cleveland that bad for blacks? Yes on one end. No on another.
The majority of blacks in the metro live outside the city (and another decent percent that do, now are on the westside). But thats not relevant to this.
I'm looking and adding it up and there is nearly 150,000 blacks just on the inner eastside suburbs (taking away East Cleveland, which has long been as crime ridden as any city of Cleveland hoods). Blacks are about 52 percent of the total population. Even with the uptick in suburban murders, id say 15 of those have occurred in the inner east burbs minus EC (36 total... 10 on the westside... 10 in East Cleveland... 1 pretty sure was in Mayfield, an outer east burb) .
So thats a black homicide rate if about 10 ... in a majority black area that has roughly the number of total blacks that the cities of Denver and Seattle (or Pittsburgh) have combined and about 50,000 less than the city of Boston.... 3-4 "safe" US cities. I guess the point is while the eastside of the city is a war zone. It doesn't mean all blacks in the area live in those environments.
In fact you can add in all the outer east Cuyahoga, west Cuyahoga, Northern Summit, Medina, Geauga, Lake and Western Lorain County suburban blacks and its another 60,000 with i believe 0 homicides.
So that is about a total of 210,000 blacks and maybe 16-17 homicides total.
Just saying, don't let the city's small boundaries (high homicide rate) get you believing that its just all the blacks killing each other. For the most part, the majority of blacks in the area (which in pure numbers the suburban Cleveland numbers dwarfs alot of other metros city numbers) live in decent areas and not just dope boys killing each other in the slums.
NYC, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, and Raleigh stand out as being very safe major cities.
Miami, Austin, Jacksonville, San Antonio, Charlotte, and Sacramento are all much safer major cities than given credit for.
Chicago, Houston, DC, Atlanta, and Nashville are embarrassing themselves as major cities.
Philly, Detroit, Memphis, Baltimore, Oakland, New Orleans, Cleveland, and St. Louis are sh*t hole major cities.

This is so on point. Statistics doesn't always give the entire picture of personal safety.

NYC, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, and Raleigh stand out as being very safe major cities.
Don't forget El Paso - if you look at data over the past 10 years El Paso, San Jose, and San Diego are probably THE top three safest cities in terms of murder rate.
