Boston has always had random wild swings from like 35 to 60 murders since 2004 no?

It's a cultural problem more than people want to admit. It's not a race problem, it's not born in people's blood.

Anyone ever watch Trading places with Eddie Murphy? Is a man born the way he is or is it his environment that fosters it? It's the latter imo. Nothing is going to change over night. The numbers are going to be insanely high all year. People should have known it was coming when a whole generation of young men were raised to think it's cool to b 'savage' and listen to drill music and flaut AR's and handguns all over social media. I think social media has played a large part in the increase in homicides and gun violence.

Generally yes, but in the bad old 90s the numbers were over a 100 per year.

Even last year's spike in crime wasn't that bad compared to most other places in the country. And many places are still seeing an increase in murders. Connecticut cities are going back to the bad old days and it would interesting to see why CT is doing worse and MA is doing much better. I'm not sure if I have the resources to do such an analysis, but it is something our government might find worthwhile studying.
