July in Chicago was a very murderous month. Sun-times reports 99 homicides, while chicagotribune reports 105 and notes their stats comes directly from the CPD. I lean towards chicagotribune having the accurate account this time, but it only narrowly escapes from being the same amount as last year's 107, though shooting incidents and victims were up at 461 and 614, respectively, compared to 402 and 561 July 2020. In total, as of July end there have been 445 murders. I can remember when that was about the total for the entire year, and even then it was bad.

In the suburbs, three killed in Harvey over the weekend. There were possibly a total of five murders in the area just in the final 3 days of July, but I couldn't find a news media reporting on them, though there are names and faces for three of the victims on social media. The latest three were all males in their late 20s, and possibly gang-related. At this point, Harvey may have crossed over 20 murders, but it's like the media has turned its back or the mayor and pd are willingly fudging the reports.

Does anyone know why the Miami metro has been doing so well these last years? Palm Beach County has over 1.5 million people and only has 56 and Miami only has 30. Those are some pretty crazy numbers..
