Did anyone see that footage of those police officers randomly shooting(non-lethal rounds) at people in the street in Minneapolis last year? The only reason why the footage came out is that they decided to prosecute a guy who shot back at them but he was found not guilty. It’s gangster stuff these cops are pulling.

There was also another bodycam footage of officers talking about “hunting” protesters. I don’t enjoy hating on police but it’s easy to see why rioting happened when this was the behavior of officers who are meant to protect the city and why people’s trust police is so low, even when police are actually proven right.

I’m not necessarily for defunding the police and all that stuff, but so many people, especially on this thread, don’t believe these types of things happen. I also think this situation is so unfair, because at the same time, the vast majority of people getting killed and injured in the streets are not by cops, but by other criminals.

The problem is, is that even if not every cop is a sociopath or whatever, few or no officers ever call out police brutality.

Yep. MPD is not innocent at all and part of the reason why the riots were as bad as they were.

I just also find it a bit frustrating when people state that police do absolutely nothing ever besides protecting the “elite bourgeois white supremacist class traitor landowning class”. When there’s quite literally thousands of videos of cops getting shot at, shooting at people shooting at them, getting killed, etc. Saving people from fires, drug overdoses, etc. Whatever it be. I get some of it is cop propaganda, but I think the reason why there is a lot of police brutality in this country has a lot more to do with toxic gun culture and police culture, rather than inherent structural issues within police departments that are so unreformable we have to abolish them.

Researchers at the center noted that the 2020 homicide rate of 7.8 is the highest recorded in the United States since 1995 but is still significantly lower than the rates in the early 1980s, which topped 10 homicides per 100,000 people.”

I’m also curious as to how many of these homicides are domestic related, given the aspect of staying at home, the employment situation, etc.
makes sense.. the murders that occured in very very large family were 1979, 1987 and 1990.
