The two cities sticking out above average to me are LA and Columbus.

LA is well above what it is usually, as is Columbus. Both cities usually have relatively low homicide rates.

279 deaths a day from covid in LA County and 19 homicides in 12 days, along with the exodus to less expensive Western states. At this rate LA will be emptying out at an unprecedented rate. Sad.

To where? They're moving to Texas which has high rates and a increasing murder rate. What's the difference?

I was looking at a crime mapping site which Santa Ana PD reports to when I saw LAPD and LA Sheriff were reporting on it too. Right now they report 26 homicides in LA through yesterday (1/15)
