1. Triangle: I like the variety of having three core cities. Also the only city/state of these I haven't been to, so the novelty would be exciting for a while
2. Louisville: wasn't bad when I visited, would be cool to watch the city revitalize
3. Nashville: not super into live music
4. Richmond: seemed kinda small, not much going on outside the Fan neighborhood, having DC nearby would be nice but I've pretty much explored it already
I would choose Raleigh because it is the most attractive from a quality of life perspective. Raleigh has the least crime and run down areas. I like that the area is progressive without being annoying. It is nice to have multiple cities close by to visit.
Economy: Nashville edges Raleigh-Durham overall, I think. Although salaries are mostly higher in the triangle. Nashville rising fast though.
COL: Louisville
Location: Nashville is close to midwest, south, east coast
Crime: Raleigh wins this
Schools/Universities: Raleigh edges Nashville
Outdoor Activities (hiking, etc.): Nashville
Culture/History: Nashville
Amenities (shopping, entertainment, etc.): Nashville by far
Overall I prefer Raleigh/Durham as it's just more up my alley as a Northerner.
In order of preference:
Raleigh/Durham
Richmond
Louisville
Nashville
