I think the reason it gets recognition at all it’s just because it’s New York. They’ll find a way to have a piece of everything even when it’s tiny

Here's city proper as well as I could find it:

Arlington: 2,075 Vietnamese, 6.9% of all Asians, 0.9% of all people
Boston: 13,334 Vietnamese, 17.8% of all Asians, 1.9% of all people
Chicago: 11,889 Vietnamese, 5.6% of all Asians, 0.4% of all people
Houston: 41,559 Vietnamese, 23.3% of all Asians, 1.8% of all people

Orange County: 225,251 Vietnamese, 30% of all Asians, 7.1% of all people
Philadelphia: 17,964 Vietnamese, 13.6% of all Asians, 1.1% of all people
San Diego: 42,597 Vietnamese, 14.9% of all Asians, 3.0% of all people
San Francisco: 20,904 Vietnamese, 6.1% of all Asians, 2.4% of all people

I'd amend my support for Houston and vote for OC if I could. But also Boston deserves a spot more than 50% of the options. 100% of the eastern options, really..

I went to the Asia Garden Mall on Bolsa Avenue in Westminster, CA many years ago, and I couldn't help but notice that half the stores in the mall are jewelry stores. I also discovered that drinks at the food court are a ripoff, because they don't have free refills, and they don't fill your cup all the way if you order a drink with no ice. Good food, though.

And in case you were wondering, OP, the city of Boston, MA has more than twice as many Vietnamese people as the city of Dallas, TX (source) despite the city of Boston having about half as many people as the city of Dallas (source).

So, I don't think Dallas was the city you were sleeping on in this thread..

I’ve been to Dallas Vietnamese “mall/strip mall”. I didn’t include it for a reason. I haven’t been to Boston. For all I know, Boston’s Viet Town may be as prominent as Houston, OC and SD’s. And just less known for it. If Boston’s Viet Town is as big as you say it is, then sure it should’ve been added. But Dallas having a large Viet population and a weak Viet town is proof that just because you have a large population in doesn’t mean they’ll establish an equivalent neighborhood.

Ugh. What proof do you need to believe that Fields Corner exists? I promise I'll provide it for you.

And I just showed that Dallas doesn't have a large Viet population, at least when compared to Boston (proper).

It is somewhat ridiculous to use city proper data in general when comparing demographic groups. DFW has a much larger Vietnamese population than even the Boston CSA, but not as many live in Dallas proper. The Little Saigon in DFW is Walnut Lane in Garland and it is quite sizable. Its not on the level of Bellaire Blvd in Houston, but its easily top 5 in the US.

It’s definitely not top 5 in the US.

First you got to obvious 3:

OC
Houston
SJ

Then you get some of the other sizable

San Diego
Tacoma

Austin’s “China Town” strip mall which is actually Vietnamese dominated is more of Dallas’ tier.
