The Triangle.

It’s bigger, more cosmopolitan, more amenities, more professional opportunities, more shopping, much larger airport, etc.

I don’t need the biggest city, but there’s a certain size I at least need. There are exceptions. For example, Charleston SC, Wilmington NC. They’re smaller too but the beach offsets it for me.

For me, Asheville is a day trip. Not a place to live.

It’s a tough one for me but because my field of work, I would do better in RDU. Where would I rather live though? Probably Asheville

I see your point. It feels like there are a lot of people who are going to continue to demand people wear masks after they are vaccinated.

There's a difference between places you want to live in versus places you want to visit.

The Triangle doesn't have a lot of tourism (no one is going to Raleigh on vacation unless you're Barney Fife, LOL), but it's a great area to live in. The Triangle has RTP, three major universities, state government jobs, etc. There's a reason why the area has been booming for the past few decades.

Asheville, on the contrary, has a lot of tourism and therefore is a better place for a visit. However, living there is a different story, unless you're looking for an area for retirement. I love Asheville, but there are simply more jobs in the Triangle, Triad, and Charlotte.

I feel like I'm forced to explain why I carry when I carry in Cary too often. I visit family there. That area is too left-wing, postage stamp lots, hates 2A, etc.

So maybe WNC (Blowing Rock, Hendersonville).

Have you tried 15 miles west and Chatham County?
