There is a big problem in the religious community where they put money into good causes and a great deal of money into trips to help out other places as missions.

The ultimate problem is people give themselves a merit badge to say they are doing good in the world, and they are, but the money isn't spent efficiently and they aren't really fixing all of the problems in existence or doing the job a gov't institution would if they had a mandate to help all in a given situation.

This is a big problem when you cross the anti-gov't types with religion. They hide behind the good religious groups do, but ignore how much is missed or inefficiently the money is spent.

The ultimate problem is pro-choice isn't about finding good adoptive parents of a baby. It is about the toll it it takes on the woman. There is a natural risk in pregnancy and it takes up a good deal of the woman's time and resources. It can interrupt career building, it can make poverty worse, and it always carries a health risk with it.

It's a battle of rights of a developing fetus vs. the woman's choice that fetus depends on. Ultimately, I struggle with the removal of the rights of the woman to do what she wants with her own body, even though it would be better to pretend a baby has no toll or affect on the woman and it is always best to just let the fetus grow, become a baby, and move on.

Alas, this has very little to do with the subject of Atlanta being very, very big and having a massive airport and great college that draws in many jobs and corporate attention.

Main problem is a church can’t really be mandated to fix-all as they are not tax operated institutions. They work on donations and funding is limited and typically aimed at either the most critical needs at the given time, or for some churches, needs that promote their name.

The Dems too, always advocating for helping the less fortunate so long as it's not in their backyard.
More misinformation. Republicans, as a group, tend to be more charitable and give more time and resources than democrats.

Info on charitable giving, including breakdowns by political affiliation and religious group: https://www.philanthropyroundtable.o....s.-generosity

Democrats want to you to give to groups of their choosing through higher taxes. Republicans want you to be able to choose on your own. That is the difference.

Interesting. Got a link to back up this claim?

A lot of interesting arguments being made here that have seemingly nothing to do with the topic...

There is a political board for that type of stuff.

Republicans protect plenty of financial spigots from being exposed to market forces which would drive down prices through healthcare.

They also want to intervene and outlaw people from having gender reaffirming surgery which is a family and doctor issue, not Arkansas's state' legislature. That whole thing is stupid, because anyone who procreates takes on the risk of having a baby that is intersex with both sets of genaltalia (sp?) and thus the doctor with a scalpel determines if it will grow up and a boy or girl. Don't you think that has a 50% error rate whenever it occurs?

But I hate all labels of political parties. I want a neutral compromise party to take over.

Yes, Michigander Tex, definitely "a few." Atlanta will be 9th-largest for a while. It won't be the fifth-largest metro this century, probably. This thread's title is civic boosterism on steroids.

Not a while, likely in next 2-3 years Atlanta would jump to 7th.

Metro Atlanta growth projection was pretty spot on the estimation 6,087,762 the Census result was 6,089,815. What spare philly it was underestimated. but Atlanta and Miami will past Philly soon anyways.

The rest of this century is 79 years that actually significant longer than base current populations growth projection Atlanta could past Chicago pop in 4 decades. No saying it will but if Atlanta does be the 5th largest metro it be this century.
