Not surprised. Austin is turning into a real city while the crown jewel of DFW growth is still Collin County strip mall sprawl into Anna TX and pretty soon Oklahoma.
There will be a barrier for sprawl across the border to the north as long as Oklahoma has an income tax. Ardmore, OK, near the border, is barely growing.
I think Sacramento is probably less hated on CD than it is in the state of California. We get knocked on pretty good by the denizens of coastal metros. The closer you get to the Pacific, the more they dislike you.

This is so true. When I was in High School in Orlando, we used to jokingly call it the 2nd biggest city in Georgia. We didn't hate it, but we looked down our noses at it. The true hate starts further south, they absolutely despise all of North Florida.
Yeah at least you guys know we exist, people from SE Florida think anything north of Palm Beach is backwoods even SW FL is considered too redneck for Southeast Florida. One guy at my church in Jacksonville jokengly said that Orlando has no black people (he's white btw). He mostly encountered Hispanics and Whites while he lived down there.
