Phoenix by far. San Antonio is basically a 2.5x larger version of Tucson (Spanish missions to boot!). Now if you asked if Phoenix is more like San Antonio or San Diego, that would be tougher.

I don't particularly think it's like either but if I had to chose I would say Phoenix.

San Diego and San Antonio both have large military aspects though

They are both named after saints so that's one thing they have in common, lol. Plus someone mentioned about the military presence. Also they have the same population of about 1.5 million and the second largest city propers of their respective states, but third largest for MSA population. Other than that it's probably more similar to Phoenix even though I'm familiar with either one.

Phoenix.

Besides the “San” and having a large military presence, San Antonio and San Diego are nothing alike.

Everyone keeps saying it’s more similar to Phoenix but not really giving reasons as to why.
