For me, it's like picking your poison, lol. Austin is starting to adopt the same abysmally failed mindsets that San Jose has.
Like what?

They have a horrible homeless problem that Austin's Mayor refuses to acknowledge. I'll go with Austin since it's not as badly in the toilet as San Jose as of right now and is exponentially more affordable.
I was just in San Jose 2 days ago and Palo Alto yesterday and I didnt feel like I was in a toilet.
I prefer the Austin MSA, but if more people from the San Jose MSA keep moving to Austin they could eventually ruin Austin and turn it into San Jose 2.0. What is it they are saying these days? Don't California my Texas? Something like that.

That saying is lame. If you’re gonna lure California headquarters with tax incentives and subsidies then you’re also luring the politics and culture. It’s not like Texas is reluctantly “allowing” them into the state. Texas is specifically targeting California companies and paying them to relocate there. That’s exactly making Texas into California. You can’t have it both ways.

Yup. More power to them if they want to throw out limitless incentives to entice our companies to move there, they obviously want San Jose's global prestige and power, who doesnt?
In the meantime, San Jose will continue churning out more megacompanies than anywhere.

Eh, why is Texas combined into one? That's a really big state and Austin is very different from DFW which is very different from Houston which is very different from Austin. What an odd thing to do.
Are they really paying them to relocate or are they just enticing them with tax benefits?
