In what way? Portland and Seattle are in the same region of the country and have nearly the same geographic features (mountains, lush forests, several lakes/rivers, nearby coastline, etc...).

Portland has the Oregon coast in close proximity which is nice.

Seattle's Puget Sound and Lake Washington though offer excellent year-round sailing if you're into that. Can also sail to Alaska through the Inside Passage.
