Midtown Houston should be replaced with Uptown Houston. That's the best neighborhood comparison for Midtown Atlanta.

Except Brickell and South Beach which imo are easily more vibrant, walkable, and urban. Their growth and development is way more intense as well.

No way is Brickell more walkable than Midtown Atlanta. Not remotely close.
Vibrant, sure. Lots of towers, yep. But it’s not developed at street level the way Midtown Atlanta is, and because of the way it has developed with the setback buildings and huge intersections, it likely never will.

Nice video... But that's Brickell City Center, which is all of one block. Most of Brickell is not like that.

And I don't put much faith in walkscore... I am basing my opinion on my personal experience.
According to Walkscore, Brickell is more walkable than this:

I do not find this to be particularly pedestrian friendly:

It's fine, but by no means what I would consider the peak of urbanity/walkability.

By contrast, a standard intersection on the main drag in Midtown:

Unpopular opinion on City-Data, since this forum seems to think towers are everything, Downtown Miami across the river is much more pedestrian-friendly than Brickell.

I don't think anyone is going to debate that Miami is a more vibrant city on any given night. I am strictly speaking in terms of walkability. I don't think I would call any particular part of Atlanta "vibrant."

The vast majority of Brickell is extremely walkable with 99% of all your daily needs within a 1 to 9 minute walk (grocery stores, banks, CVS, restaurants, bars, movie theatre, mall, UPS Store/FedEx, restaurants, Starbucks, gyms, cigar lounge, bayfront walking paths, etc) available without needing a car. The only exceptions to this 9 minute walk radius are Brickell Key (involves a 10-15 minute walk to get to heart of Brickell) and the extreme end of Brickell by the Rickenbacker Causeway (12-17 minute walk)…I am a 6 minute walk from Brickell City Centre (closer to Mary Brickell Village) with the “99% daily needs” rule within 1-9 minute walk in effect nor does one need to go to that mall for the vast majority of their needs. Heck, my daily breakfast spot and dentist are located within my building; ditto for a gym, though I walk 6 minutes to 1 of 2 Equinox. I also catch the nearby Metromover that I take to Heat games.

For all these reasons, plus living much closer to/on the water with views of the bay, Brickell Avenue, cruise port and Miami Beach, I choose Brickell over Midtown.
