I had almost the exact same thing happen in December. I was able to negotiate a nice pay increase for myself.

Yep, I think in a lot of employers in the professional space are competing against each other since remote work has been on the rise since 2020. The labor market has opened up significantly since many companies are not limited to their own city/location. I know our company previously only hired individuals near Indy, but now they've opened up their hiring practices and are willing to keep people on/hire those who are completely remote.
