Jobless rates are very low in most metro areas as of Nov 2021, and even those areas with the highest rates are not that bad tbh.

1.4% seems impossibly low

How is NYC so high? Everywhere I go in the Metro there are signs everywhere... Starbucks in NJ are starting pay at like $18-19 an hour now.

The labor market is extremely tight in Raleigh. It’s almost a name-your-price situation.

Why is Dallas, Austin and Houston not in the top 10. Too many people moving there filing for unemployment?

My small town is 1.3% down from 1.4%. Don't recall it being that low. How low does low go? My guess some small towns dip below 1%.

I don't think there is a single business in Indy that is not hiring right now. I certainly don't know of any.

The labor market is white hot in Indy. I nearly took an offer from another company in November then my current company countered with a significantly better offer so I decided to stay. I was told things are super competitive right now and companies are struggling to keep their employees.

I wonder if cities that paid extra during the pandemic to the unemployed typically have higher jobless rates as a result of more people participating in "the great resignation"? I read that in California that the break even point to work or quit was $15/hr. So even if you could get a job for $20/hr was it really worth it to work 40 hours per week for a net $200 extra?
