This actually comes close to the order of my "most global/cosmopolitan/international cities" list, although I wouldn't put Austin or San Jose that high.
Not totally surprised. Though maybe San Diego is hire than I thought? Sort of expected Philly, Atlanta and Portland in the mix?
Yeah, San Diego has a fairly sizable tech industry as well.
Speaking of California, I am excited for the future of the state's coming workforce and future talent currently being trained and educated at UCs and CSUs.
Demand for entry is at an all time high despite criteria being more strict. Especially since Hispanics are now the largest racial group being admitted for the second year in a row. That ia a very good indicator of major growth acrosa racial lines. BRAVO!

They weren't referring to city limits. Like much of the world, they meant "city" as the market, or something like metro.
Right, so it's in relation to metro size. But by that metric, Phoenix isn't much bigger than most cities on that list (and that's how this came up in the first place, no?).
Unclear what the methodology is behind this? Hard to believe NYC ranks behind places like Austin or Toronto when it comes to "talent concentration.". Maybe on a per capita basis. But NYC has become a major tech hub with a huge VC industry.
These are mostly cities that have a high concentration of tech talent.

NYC doesn't have a high concentration of any industry in particular or specialization because there are many industries in New York.
