Yup, this list seems to really be pointing to "tech." Although NYC is very reputable in "tech." It's just got a lot of other industries like Finance obviously (among other), that it is more balanced.
Very surprised to see Calgary on the list (no offence) and surprised that Montreal or Vancouver (two cities with an abundance of talent) not on the list. Toronto at 17 feels very low, it's easily 10-15 in my eyes.
Yeah, San Diego has a fairly sizable tech industry as well.
Speaking of California, I am excited for the future of the state's coming workforce and future talent currently being trained and educated at UCs and CSUs.
Demand for entry is at an all time high despite criteria being more strict. Especially since Hispanics are now the largest racial group being admitted for the second year in a row. That ia a very good indicator of major growth acrosa racial lines. BRAVO!

Just because one attends/graduates, doesn't mean one stays later on for their careers. Moreover, California is the largest state in population by a large margin (10 million +). So I'm not all that surprised its has the colleges with the highest applications for admissions.
