By now, El Paso should be over 900k metro. If it were included, I would throw it in between Fresno and Tucson.

Omaha and it's not that close. Tulsa for second. I thought Dayton OH metro was in that population range, I'd rank it similar to Tulsa.

I feel a little more mixed about Omaha. At street level Omaha is one of my top cities on this list. I also love Omaha's tallest building, it's probably my favorite building in this group of cities. After that though the buildings in Omaha get shorter quicker and the majority of the ones I've seen are quite boxy and unremarkable. The skyline doesn't look quite as filled in/unique to me as some of these others. Perhaps there's a better angle that someone can share?

I would say Tulsa, then Dayton (which I consider to be in this metro population range).

Awesome snapshot! Thanks for compiling this list.

Honolulu is clearly in an absolute other league of cities, compared to these.

Then New Orleans is also in another tier for sure--with so many more.

The next grouping is pretty tight--

Richmond

Salt Lake City
Louisville
Hartford
Memphis

Buffalo
Oklahoma City
Birmingham
Raleigh

Surprised that Honolulu has so freakin many, to be honest. The others on the list land pretty much where I would expect, overall.

Mutual of Omaha announced last month they plan to build a 45-50 story skyscraper in downtown Omaha that likely will eclipse Omaha’s tallest- The First National tower which is 634 feet. It’s looking like this Mutual tower will end up in that 700 foot range. Construction is set to start this coming January with completion in 2026.

Right now, in this skyline comparison, Omaha basically ranks at the top. With this added new tower, it’ll be no contest.

I've seen the renders, it's a really sharp design. I think Tulsa, Omaha, and Rochester are easily the top three. Greenville is not very tall, but is filling out nicely. Living in Columbia, our metro being around 840,000, I think our skyline is fairly nice, and competes evenly with most of these cities.

Here's a cool pic of Grand Rapids changing skyline from a tower crane from last week from a friend.
