Even though, Charleston is a metro of maybe barely 500k… but due to the nature of its tourism it may hit way higher on the scale. How would you tier it? I mean this in the realm of offerings like restaraunts, nightlife, entertainment

I would ask this in the Myrtle Beach or general SC forums.

It’s a comparative thread? Myrtle Beach thread won’t have a bunch of posters from everywhere else

Where did you get maybe barely 500,000 for the Charleston metro? Try 813,000 as of 7/1/2021 in the new census estimates released this month, 799,000 in the official 2020 census, and 802,000 in the 7/1/2020 census estimate, all official U.S. Census Bureau numbers. Five hundred thousand is Myrtle Beach's current stat roughly.

The Myrtle Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau reported that 20.6 million visitors spent $4.5 billion in Horry County in 2019. The Charleston Area CVB reported in January 2020 that more than 7.4 million annual visitors had an economic impact of $8 billion. So I guess Charleston is more expensive and Charleston tourists typically have more money to spend.

Same here...It is a smaller metro and I don't see how it is up there with any of the metros mentioned.

Charleston has more like 700k people and growing as well.

Fun visite though, for sure. with ocean city md right here I’ve only been twice. And probably won’t be back for a while. But it’s certainly bigger than OCMD…
