Raw GDP doesn't tell the whole story of economics - manufacturing, affordability, etc. play a role in it. And more expensive areas tend to have higher GDPs.
Just saying the raw GDP is higher doesn't mean a place has a strong economy - does LA have a stronger economy than DFW?
