I forgot to put nightlife as one of the criteria.. though I suppose it could be covered under "culture"
As for Political views: do you find the cities just right, too liberal, or too conservative
This is really unfair to Dallas because New Orleans adds a hell of a lot more than does OKC. Not to hate on OKC, but I don't see anything it brings to the table that Dallas doesn't already have. Houston and New Orleans is a different story.
Amenities- HOU/NO, slightly
Architecture HOU/NO (due to NO)
Cost of living Tie
Crime DAL/OKC
Culture HOU/NO
Diversity HOU/NO
Downtowns HOU/NO
Food HOU/NO
Friendliness Tie
Future of those cities DAL/OKC
Good place to live/visit DAL/OKC (to live), HOU/NO (to visit)
Growth DAL/OKC
Outdoor activity HOU/NO due to more water activities
Political views DAL/OKC tends to be the most centrist overall, HOU/NO leans left
Population density HOU/NO
Quality of life DAL/OKC due to less pollution/traffic
Skyline HOU/NO due to the overall more massive spread of high-rise clusters, along with NO's more historic riverfront setting
Shopping HOU/NO (but DAL overall is #1)
Sports culture, DAL/OKC overall (Tie for pro sports, DAL/OKC for high school/college sports (for the NFL, DAL>NO>HOU, only DAL has the NHL, while the NBA/MLB go to HOU/NO)
Things to do HOU/NO
Weather HOU/NO during the winter, DAL/OKC during the summer
Dallas and Houston are comparable in most categories, but how on earth is anyone not going to pick Houston + New Orleans because NOLA and OKC are very mismatched.

I thought the same thing. NOLA adds a major recreation/entertainment boost that OKC doesn’t.
