From my initial research all these place I have listed appear to be cheaper, our landlord currently is telling other tenants a $400 increase in rent to $2000 per month for the single bed apartment we live in now. We want to be prepared for when that happens. As for jobs these places all seem to have a high amount of jobs from me skimming through indeed. some of them much more then where I live now. I do not have folks and will not be having any kids in the future. Weather for me does not matter that's why Des Moines is on the list I originally grew up in Colorado so do not mind the snow that much.
In case you didn't already know, some cities are so desperate for newcomers that they are offering incentives for people to move there. But often the catch is you have to agree to become a remote worker there. Other cities just require you to buy a house or do something else. Most incentives are in the $5000 to $10,000 range. Tulsa is one of them.

I'll go with Tulsa as a good mid-point between the Southern picks and the Midwest picks. Tulsa seems to check off all the strengths of both. Very affordable, has nearby hiking and fishing (Ozarks Mountains, Green Country has hundreds of lakes), isn't as humid as Florida in the summer and doesn't get as freezing like Iowa/Missouri in the winter, lots of Art Deco in the downtown, lots of really nice suburban communities like Jenks, Bixby, Owasso, and Broken Arrow, has a lot of character and sense of place (Route 66, Bob Dylan Collection, Woody Guthrie Collection, A Gathering Place, Gilcrease Museum, Philbrook Museum, Woolaroc, Brookside, etc.)

1 bedrooms can be as cheap as $600/mt, but you should splurge and go for a much nicer place in the $1,200 range.
