Hi. I've lived in Mississippi my whole life I've noticed a slow decline in my town over the past few years. I reckon it's time for me to move before it gets worse. I've been looking on Zillow for houses in Owensboro, Paducah, and Jonesboro. Which city is best? I want to be somewhere that's pretty well kept, where people have standards and don't blast rap music in their cars downtown, where people don't fear for their safety at night, where there festivals and concerts occur somewhat often.

They are all not particularly attractive cities but I would pick Jonesboro, because it's growing fastest. Faster growing cities are always more exciting and less boring, due to watching more and more new stores opening up.

I don't know about Jonesboro, but if a city is pretty well kept, it's because city government will make you tear your dilapidated old house down, if it's judged as unfit to live in and you refuse to fix it up. And charge you for the expenses of tearing it down. The same city government will also send you a notice that you must mow your overgrown lawn or that you must remove a no longer used old car in your front yard parked on the grass, or even if you got poison ivy growing for gosh sakes.
